Mother's Day with Doris

This is for Linda and Ed in Guyana, serving their mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Dave's had a "Heart" attack...

If guess if you have to have a heart attack, this is the one and only way to go!!!
If you noticed the previous blog...guess I shouldn't use the H E double hockey sticks anymore.
Dave was called to be the bishop on May 1st. The outpouring of love and support has been wonderful!!! May 1st was an emotional blur for him. When I looked at him on May 8th, sitting in the bishop seat, he truly had the mantle of the bishop. He was calm and serene and full of love for his flock!

It's Crazy, Crazy As Hell...Before & After!

Wow! What a morning we had today. We were supposed to be at the cabin by 8 a.m. for the gas and electricity to be turned on. The news this morning (5:30) said snow was down to 5,000 feet. Well, we don't know how they think that. It was down to 3,500 feet! Had to pay a guy to put chains/cables on. Worth every penny of the 30 bucks, but we ended up losing one in a sticky situation :( It was absolutely crazy, but an experience we don't have every day! With the help of a nice guy and a snow plow coming up the road, we made it to the 4 corners area. We think that's when we lost the other chain. There was snow everywhere, and tons of it! It all was from last night too. The road was plowed to the cabin, and even our little side streets. We got there at 9:00 and the electricity was already on. The gas co. guy showed up around 11:00 and we were done! We were able to get a few things done and then high tailed it off the mountain because it was starting to snow!!! A LOT! Barely made it up the one road that's steep, up by Top Town Pizza. Got a little scary, along with the big beer truck having a heck of a time. Glad we couldn't hear that trucker!!! Coming down was hairy, stopped and took THE Chain off, and then drove right into a deluge of rain between the 10 and the 60 freeways! We made it up and back safely, it was really pretty, but treacherous! Met some neighbors. Had to borrow a hot cup of water from a teenage girl shoveling snow. The locks on the gates were frozen and the gas guy had to get in the underneath room. Met Tim as he walked past the house, he lives up at the end of the street. Neighbors kids were snow sledding across the street from us, and Keith and Denice live right next door on the west side. He was shoveling out his jeep. I don't think that picture came out, but he had his work cut out for him! We may not get it as nice as we'd like it to be by next week, but it's there and ready to meet it's guests!!!
