WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO LATELY...

We planted our garden! We hope to have tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, carrots, pumpkin, and radishes. We don't like radishes, dad just wanted to plant them in memory of his grandpa Vorkink. So far so good, we just need to stay home long enough to nuture it!
We took our road trip to Utah last week. It was fun and a lot of national parks. We have good pictures but I didn't post too many of them. Just some I thought we interesting. I don't know what order they'll pop up in, so I won't try to narrate.
Glad to be home and taking it easy around the house. Well maybe a little explanation...Dad with golf club art. Pictures of us at Mesa Verde Cliff Dwelling site. The Indians made this cliff their home! Beautiful tree with Red Rocks of Sedona behind it. Petrified tree. Sorry if I forgot one:)

Almost as gorgeous as being in England!

We were looking for something to do today. We've never been to Mt. Rubidoux in Riverside. We got the directions and learned that it's a dog friendly park. So we took off for an adventure with Mango! It's just west of the Mission Inn area. It's a huge hill/mountain and it was such a surprise! You can hike 5 miles total if you wanted to, but we took the shortest route to the top. That in itself was a mile up to the top and a little steep. You can take the flatter 2 mile hike. But we did it and it wasn't that difficult. There were lots of people there. I can't imagine what it would be like on the weekend. You can mountain bike, jog, take strollers, and dogs.
Total we spent about 2 hours at the park. At the top is a beautiful 360 degree view of the whole area. We loved the huge flag, the cross, and the ruin looking turret thing. It reminded us of being at Mow Cop in England!!! It's where John Wesley preached at the top of a mountain. The snow capped mountains and all the green land was breath taking. The pictures don't do it justice. But we loved it and are so glad we found it. Great outing for sure!!! We'd love to take the family someday...We also found some fun items on cactus. One is my heart and the other is Mickey Mouse Ears:)

WHAT IS IT???

It's a BOY!!!
Here are pictures of the Ultrasound appt for baby Bain due in June...

THE WALL OF FAME!

I'm still on President Uchtdorf's talk about being creative!
We have so many pictures of the family and travels...I just can't coop them up in albums right now. So, necessity is the mother of invention. Dad and I went to home depot yesterday hoping to find sheet metal. The space I have is 4ft wide by 6 ft long.
They just happen to sell it in the size 3X4. PERFECT! Didn't have to cute it or make a frame or do anything special to it. Went to walmart and got some cute magnets and we're done! We also bought a Scrabble game with the old wood pieces. We're going to make them into magnets to put words on the photo wall. It's going to be too cute.
So, just wanted to show it off and it will be interesting to see who is "top dog" on the photo wall :)
Enjoy,
Mom

We need more pictures!!!

I didn't get as many pictures as I thought I did. Here are some fun ones. I'm not good at putting the comment by the picture. Some are self explanatory! Kids singing "I Love Big Butts!", Brian doing the Chicken Dance, Glad we spent money for the babies to eat Cheerios at the dinner table:) All in all, great cruise and time together!!!
