Don't look too close...

I forgot to say there is one more coat of white to put on. I'm waiting until the carpet is done, then I can fix up any scuff marks or whatever clumsy guys do to things while working! Also the flash makes the stain really shiny, but it's not that obvious in person. Other than that, it is what it is!

President Uchtdorf said to be creative!!!

I have these in reverse order... But you get the idea! The top stairs were my guinea pigs. I have it down to a system now. I'm getting close to finishing the bottom section. The handrails and posts are a darker color now. Not the yellowy oak. I had to paint the base step white. That wood didn't want to take the stain and remained yellow on my guinea pig stairs. But I think it will look really rich and classic with the new carpeting. I have until Wednesday to finish! I think I'll be okay. As long as I don't get sick. Dave and Tyler had had colds. I'm washing my hands alot. Plus they have tons of stain and paint on them. The germs don't stand a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess I really took Pres. Uchtdorf's talk overboard??? I couldn't find anyone interested in doing the job. So, it had to be done and I'm probably doing a better job anyway. I know I'm saving tons of money, it's very time consuming. I'll send a "all done" picture after next week. Oh, I even sanded and stained my dad's picture he painted for me. It's Stonehenge. Now it can go back in it's place and the light oak frame won't scream out that I was too tired and lazy to fix it!
I forgot to mention the neatest thing about the reunions....

All of these guys have known eachother since "Rossmor" was developed. They have been in Primary, Young men, and have left on missions together. LITERALLY!!! Dave, Gary, and Steve all flew on the same plane to the MTC! They always meet, punch eachother, laugh, and everything else crazy guys that grew up together should do. But their fondest memory is greeting eachother like Alma and the sons of Mosiah! They returned from their missions with honor and are all married in the temple and active in the church. This helps them to keep going and look forward to checking in with each other every five years!
My fourth folder only had one picture in it. I went to the fifth folder and went to #4. This is it!
This is from 5 years ago when all of Dad's childhood friends turned 50!!! They were all together when they turned 40. They decided to get together for their 50th Birthdays and invite the wives this time! We met in Carlsbad and spent a frantic, crazy, hilarious weekend. I'll introduce everyone starting with the left:

Gary Oddou and Jane. It was their house. He's really quiet but quirky! He's the guy that has only spoken French to his children and dog! They have a vacation home in France.

Steve Baldwin and Judy. They live in Corona and I've become good friends with Judy lately. He owns a pizza place in Long Beach. We had our last reunion, Aug. 22nd, at their home. The guys are all now turning 55! Steve's the guy I asked for a ride to Institute when Dave thought he needed to date some other people....Steve turned me down because he couldn't be seen with "Dave's girl!" I wasn't happy...I had to wait for him to come back to me and it's been 33 years!

David Greer and Susan. They live in Provo. Susan is sitting on the couch and doesn't seem too impressed with the 6 stooges! They are a hoot and there was nothing funnier than David singing the Chuck Barry song during our Keroake time....He sang "My ding-a-ling!" We were laughing so hard, we all felt sick! They couldn't join us for this last reunion. We really missed them! Their oldest son David married his wife on His and her birthdays, 7-7-07.

Tony Goodall and Sue. They live in Austin, Texas. Tony is a crazy guy! Sue is very talkative, more than me! They always have interesting stories about their kids. Their 19 year has gone a little off the deep end. She got a tatoo on her back. I asked what it was of and you won't believe this......

A typewriter! Guess she loves typewriters but has never owned or used one!??? Guess there could be worse things to have on your back....

Kent Williams and Kelly. They live in Tucson. Kent was the best man at our Wedding. They weren't able to come to the last reunion. We missed them and the Greer's so much. I'd say we're closest to them. We missed them so much, we're going to see them Nov. 16-20!

Last but not least, David Bills and Janine. We have tons of fun with everyone and just laugh!

Don't you love the party hats! We're all trying to go on a cruise together. Judy Baldwin doesn't want to go, she gets sick. We're just going to drug her and bring her along. She can be our "Weekend at Bernie's" prop!!!

Hope you enjoyed meeting our friends! I'll have to download the pictures from the most recent reunion. I'm not sure how to download the CD and get pictures from it. Someone will have to tell me how to do that...

INTRODUCING OUR NEW BABY!

I'm not as good as Heather at making all the cute pictures. I need some bubbles and duckies! We love the jets and the tile is beautiful. I need to finish up on some details and put up the shower curtain. So now our new home (2 yrs in July) is finally complete! The only thing we miss from the old house is the bathtub. Not anymore!!! This is a tribute to my years of hard work at Kaiser. When I went per diem, I got a cash payout for my vacation time (which they taxed me to death on!) Oh well, I got my bathtub and that's what's important.

Love tag from Heather

I couldn't go back and edit spaces between the questions. I couldn't figure out how to do it :( I was able to do it when I edited the post, but it won't fix it when I hit publish post. Oh well.... I don't have anyone to Love Tag, so I guess it will end with me. I feel like Moroni all alone at the end of the Book of Mormon! I've written mine in case future generations read it and apply it to their own lives!

Love Tag

So I got tagged by Heather so here we go.... Dave and Janine together in Vancouver!

What is your husband's name? David Keath Bills. Keath is his dad's name. The story it's the last name of the nurse that helped deliver him, hence the strange spelling.

How long have you been together? Married 33 years on June 20th. It's been very long:) We met September 7, 1974. Engaged in March and married in the LA Temple in June. Our oldest daughter, Amber, was 8 days old on our first anniversary and Father's Day! I told Dave that was all he was getting from me!

How long did you date? Whoops, I got ahead of the question. Typical Mormon standard time!

Who eats more? That's a tough one. I eat more at one sitting, He just sits a lot longer!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is the King of the BUFFET!
Who is taller? He is, 6 foot 1 inch
Who has more speeding tickets? He does for sure! I've only had one ticket my whole life, it was uncalled for too!!!! Dave is the worst driver in the world. I think he's trying to get better, but I prefer not to think about it. What's the use?
Who is smarter? Me, I at least stay away from cops! We're both smart enough. Thankfully, we compliment eachother. When I'm being really dumb, he's smart. When he's really dumb, I'm smart. Heaven help us if we're both dumb at the same time. It's been known to happen.
Who is more sensitive? I looked it up in the dictionary (where does Heather get that from?) Sensitive: accutely responsive to certain sensation (do I really need to go there?) responsive to the feelings and attitude of others, (Totally me! ) appreciative of aesthetic or intellectual qualities, ( huh?) easily irritated or offended (interesting....we both are easily irritated if we're tired and sometimes we're too tired to take offense.
Who does the laundry? We all do our own. When I went back to school 12 years ago, everyone had to do their own laundry if they wanted clean clothes to wear. The family was very supportive and did that to help me out. It's just continued and I haven't offered to change it.
Who does the dishes? Mostly me, but Dave will always step in and help me out when I've worked too much or am just plain wiped out. He will always do them if I ask him to. One thing he insists on doing is asking me if the dishes in the dishwasher are clean. Bugs me. I need one of those little magnets that tells the person if the dishes are clean or dirty. He's been known to eat off of dirty dishes....that's because I rinse them too much before putting them in the dishwasher.
Who sleeps on the right? If you're in the bed looking over your feet, then it's me. Hope that makes your day better:)
.Who pays the bills? Dave does. Having been self employed for 26 years, he had to. We never knew when money was coming and how much. Really annoying! I could have tried, but I'd just have to ask him when someone was going to pay him for a plumbing job. Now he has a new career as a teacher and a monthly paycheck. I still let him pay the bills. Afterall it was his last name first!
Who mows the lawn? Juan Acevedo! Best thing we've ever done!!!!! Our backs can't take the bending. We used to pay our son weekly, but Juan is a better deal and way better at it!! Love it!
Who cooks dinner? Whoever is home and hungry! Dave will always fix something to help me out. Since I'm working less, I've really been into cooking. Everyone can do their own laundry and cook. Self preservation I guess.
Who drives when you are together? ME!!!!!!!!!! Remember the previous question????? It saves our marriage, insurance premiums, car, and my sanity. Dave can sleep anywhere and does. I can't, so I drive.
Who is more stubborn? Me I guess. But I'm right more often, can't seem to avoid that:) He's not stubborn, he just doesn't care about stuff as much as I do. Easy for him.
Who kissed whom first? Dave kissed me first, second, third, fourth, fifth to infinity......................He was a huge kisser while we were dating. Still tries to be........Do people our age still make out????
Who asked who out first? He asked me, but we went to my cousins wedding reception instead.
Who proposed? He did, but I knew it was happening. He ran to a neighbor's to borrow some champagne type glasses to put Red Baby soda pop into. My ring was the flip top off the soda can, wrapped in yarn! I wore that until I picked out my ring......don't laugh, but my mom and his mom both came to the jewelry store when I picked it out. That's really weird! I still have the soda pop top! When of my lucky daughters will inherit it. Don't all fight over it at once!
Who has more siblings? He does. His family had 5. He's the middle. I have an older sister and brother. I'm the baby.
Well, thanks, this was fun. I'm not sure how many people will see it. I only have my three daughters on my blog list. I hope everyone reading this can be married as long as we have. It just takes lots of love, patience, and tons of laughter!!!! Follow the commandments and attend the church and the temple as a couple...all else can be worked out.

I have always wanted to show off this picture of Karen and me having nachos in San Antonio!
This is all food, no fake dome underneath. Part of it is chicken, beef, cheese, and tons of sour cream and avocado on the side! This was a true Texas experience! Loved it. Yes, we ate it all, Susan Cunningham helped too. Can anyone top this "big food" picture? Janine

EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS!

We're Here!

So my daughters have officially forced me to blog! Heather did it all, isn't it beautiful? I'll be practicing, so hopefully good things are to come!

I thought I would start off showing you our nicer, more formal(but obviously fake) family pictures...
Notice Mango on the bottom left!

The timing with the grandkids throwing the leaves was a little tricky! We have 4 grandchildren, but Tate-R-Tot(the baby) would have been turned into mashed potatoes!

Here is the whole family!
